Description
This series of 4 lessons will take the NVivo novice through the main NVivo for Windows features you need to know to set up an NVivo project using documents (e.g., interview and focus group transcripts, articles, papers). Participants will finish with an NVivo project that is ready for use in their own work if they use their own project data and analysis plan to complete the 4 lessons and accompanying assignments.
- Get Started: Learn the software basics, NVivo’s sample projects, how to set up the workspace and your NVivo project, and how to import Files.
- Codes: Learn multiple ways to approach and create codes, how to work with your codes once they are created, and how to use NVivo features like Coding Stripes and the Codebook to further your analysis.
- Notes: Learn about some of NVivo’s powerful Notes features – Memos, Annotations, and See-Also Links. Learn how to use Memos to track analysis and form the initial drafts of reports.
- Queries: Learn how to set up and run Word Frequency Queries, Text Search Queries, Matrix Coding Queries – along with the visualizations they produce and how to interpret them.
Course duration: 4 weeks; one lesson per week; each lesson 1.5 hours live online instruction.
