NVivo Classroom Workshops

We offer our Introduction to NVivo workshop to both Mac and Windows users. The curriculum differs slightly – check out the lesson plan for each, as follows:  

Introduction to NVivo for Windows

Who?

This course is suitable for NVivo 10 and NVivo 11 users (Starter, Pro or Plus) with little or no experience.

What?

This full-day hands-on workshop will walk you through the basics of NVivo and provide you with enough information and practice to get you started in your own project.

In this course we will:

  • discuss participant goals
  • present an overview of NVivo and learn the NVivo workspace
  • learn how to create a new project in NVivo using sample data
  • import and organize documents and other file formats (e.g., PDF, datasets)
  • create and learn how to manage coding structures, practice coding, and discover how coding can be displayed and exported
  • create memos, annotations and “see also links” as a means of reflecting on the data and analysis process
  • learn and practice query functions using the query wizard for commonly used queries
  • visualize the work by using comparison and explore diagrams and other NVivo visuals
  • discuss good housekeeping, tips for working in teams, learning resources, and other topics (as time permits and in consideration of participant interests)

Where? 

Introduction to NVivo for Windows is offered as a full-day workshop in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Participants bring their own laptops and NVivo software to a small classroom setting.

Introduction to NVivo for Mac

Who?

This course is suitable for NVivo for Mac users with little or no experience.

What?
